So today I just lets things go a little.  I wanted to rest a bit, since it is going to be some late nights over the next couple days (not to mention I am moving apt when I return home as well).  I mostly hung out with some friends from various places on the globe.  We crashed the IGDA party which was pretty lame.  I had a drink ticket, but still had to pay $11.50 for a Long Island Ice Tea.  After that we just moved around to various hotels looking for people we knew.  We ended up running into Arne and hung out at the lobby at the W.  I had a wonderful conversation with Jenn Frank of 1up on all types of things from games to t-shirts.

Time for bed...First session at 9:30 AM...

So I finally got checked into my hotel.  The room actually isn't that bad.  It isn't the W, but I am not complaining.  I got to hang out with some friends from around the industry.  Tried to get into some private showings of some MS games, but I didn't want to push to hard.  Most of them will be shown on the floor or I can get access to them via connections.  Of course the RPG Panel sounded awesome with Hironobu Sakaguchi of Mistwalker, Peter Molyneux of Lionhead, and Ray Muzyka of Bioware.  Some real heavy hitters, but I guess they were overbooked already.

I did have some excellent Mexican food for lunch.  It was tasty, but I think anything would after the long walk.  Lots of walking today.  The scale of GDC in SF compared to San Jose is pretty massive.  It is going to be an interesting day tomorrow.

So I just landed and sitting in the corner checking my email and charging my laptop battery.  The flight was alright, I got a little worried because I woke up 30 minutes later then I first planned, but I didn't run into a problem at the airport.  Flying into Oakland is really strange because all you see is water below you and then all the sudden runway.

I picked up my pass and badge.  I got this large Playstation bag full of crap like gum and post-it notes.  Not really sure what I need with another bag and some post-it notes.

I added my first photo, which is flying by the Golden Gate Bridge on the way to Oakland International Airport.

So my web host speed has just gone into the crapper recently and the last thing I want is for people not to be able to read things I write, so for the time being I am moving over here to Windows Live Spaces until I can find a new host.  I will probably be hosting any videos on my website Shinyidol, but for just updates it will be via this site.

So I am getting ready for my trip to GDC.  I should probably be getting some sleep right now since my flight is at 6:15 am and it is now 11 PM, but I have a list and want to double check everything so I don't forget everything.  This is also a test just to make sure that everything works with Windows Live Writer and the plugin that I wrote that will add timestamps when I am liveblogging from the keynote or other sessions.  Hopefully this all goes on without a hitch.
